All Saints
‘We Celebrate all that is good within our Community'.
We are a friendly and thriving church in the town centre of Gainsborough in a beautiful Grade I listed building.
Our church is open every day and alongside our regular acts of worship we have a very popular cafe that is open Monday - Saturday. Visitors are always very welcome perhaps to find a quiet place for prayer and reflection, to look around at the inspiring architecture, or just to have a cup of tea!
Our worship style is Eucharistic and our music includes the organ, a music group and a robed choir . Our worshipping community participate in a range of activities and groups, some of which can be seen on our events page. We also hold a number of concerts throughout the year and have very strong links with the Church of England Primary Schools in the town.
We look forward to welcoming you.
St George's
Since October 2008 regular services of worship have not been held at St George's but the building is still consecrated as a church. Its main function at present is as a venue for community and parish activities. It is regularly used by many local groups and organisations.
Those who used to be members of the congregation there now worship at All Saints' Church, playing an active role both in worship and in the wider life of the church. Some of those members belong to the PCC (Parochial Church Council) which continues to maintain and improve the premises for use both by the parish and by the wider community. Currently St. George's Community Centre is managed by a specific Management Committee.
We host a number of regular activities including a Folk Dance Club, Brownies and Guides but are also host to a number of other local groups who hire our premises. There are two heated halls available for hire and a smaller heated room for small groups or individuals.
It has a well-stocked kitchen with cooking facilities and a fridge/freezer, and there is a recently refurbished disabled toilet and other toilet facilities. Off-road parking is available.
We look forward to welcoming you to our building. If you should wish to hire the venue for your Group or for a "One Off" fund raiser you should in the first instance contact the Parish Administrator by ringing 01427 611036 or by email at [email protected]
St Paul's
Celebrating all that is good and of God in our community.
We aim to be a friendly and growing congregation of usually between 25-35 attendees on a normal Sunday drawn mainly from the north end of Gainsborough and the village of Morton. A service is held each week at St Paul's except on the first Sunday of the month when we join the congregation at All Saints for the 10.30am All Age Communion. At our services our hymns are accompanied by our organist.
We have strong links with the local uniformed organisations and Morton Trentside School who often join us at special services and are very pleased that a significant number of children from the local area are baptised here each year. There are also an increasing number of couples who choose to be married here too.
We have a beautiful Grade II* listed building that has many examples of work that was carried out in the William Morris studios, including a number of Burne-Jones stained glass windows. We also host a regular programme of concerts throughout the year.
We look forward to welcoming you to our church. Tea and coffee is served after the service so there is always the opportunity to get to know each other better.
